Australia. When I saw that news, I thought I'd pitch it on my radio show. I do a three-hour

radio show on ABC Radio Sydney every day, every weekday. And we sort of, it came up, and we couldn't quite find a place for it on the day that it happened

and I felt a bit weird because nobody else was doing the story and nobody else even seemed to

be mentioning the story.

Maybe I was crazy, maybe I thought this was more important than it was, maybe I'm just too online,

maybe I'll be perceived as being sort of interested in ginning up hatred against trans people or something,

but I betrayed that little part of my intellectual curiosity, that little part of my

creative soul that called me to do the story and that said, look, don't worry about the

culture war critics and don't worry about whether there are wokesters or whether there are

crusty old conservatives who actually are transphobes, just get your hands

dirty by actually wrestling with this because it is reasonably important.

We're at a juncture in culture, where we're re-evaluating what gender means.

We're re-evaluating whether or not there's any connection between sex and gender.
