Sometimes it could be hard to be taken seriously if previously you had not been

taken seriously and I sense that's how many people feel about Kyrie Irving right

now and maybe even some of the players in the NBA that were on that conference

call over the weekend,

Kyrie decided that he didn't support resuming

the NBA season anymore.

This is Kyrie Irving, who thinks the earth is flat,

who often fancies himself as the most woke in the locker room thinks that playing in late July

would distract from the national conversation the Black Lives Matter movement.

Which look the interesting thing to me about that is that the players seem pretty split on it, too.

You've got guys like Dwight Howard and Lou Williams, both kind of echoing the same sentiments

as Kyrie, but then you've got others maintaining that they want to play for various reasons.

David, where do you land on this idea that players playing and resuming the NBA season

would be a distraction from the national conversation that we've been having

because I'm not convinced that these things are mutually exclusive at all.

I think that you can resume the NBA season and use that as a platform to further the conversation, but look, I don't know. I think that it's worth talking about and thinking about this deeply I I disagree with that idea I

really do believe that whether his motivations are clear or a hundred genuine. I do agree with Kyrie's perspective that the

NBA will just serve as a distraction rather than as a way of propelling or
