I've got a theory. And it is obviously a timely opportunity to reflect upon the state of the nation.

But I think about media a lot.

You know I do. And it's a habit I have to break a bit because the public's relationship with media,

particularly young people's, but there's no resemblance whatsoever to mine or to older people.

And in fact, there is a story in the news today about how the very definition of being old is changing

before our very eyes. We may have a little look at that later if we feel the need for a quick

paddle in the shallower end of current affairs. But the relationship with media, I just find

myself wondering about how many different countries we live in, you know, how many people are getting

their information from TikTok, for example, or from a YouTube-shaped rabbit hole where everything

from sort of anti-vaccine rhetoric right through to new world order and demonisation of the
