We're starting a new message series on the subject of worship.

And over the next few weeks, we're going to talk about the fact that we were designed by God for worship.

But I want to begin with a little bit of the genesis of this series, where it comes from.

Now, for me personally, it comes from a deeper place than just what I'm about to share with

you, but at a practical level, I started thinking about this series in August of this year.

In August of this year, if you're here in Southern California, you'll know that Taylor Swift came to Southern California.

And when Taylor Swift came to Southern California, I watched people travel across town, across state even, buy new clothes, buy tickets for the concert.

And then I watched at the concert.

Young girls, 13, 14, 15, just going for it at Taylor Swift.

You saw it all over social media, and it was really, really cool.

Now, I would expect, you know, like seeing parents putting pictures of their kids,

but what I wouldn't expect is like 45-year-old women acting like teenagers

at Taylor Swift concerts.

And I was even more surprised when I saw men acting like teenage girls at Taylor Swift

concerts.

Now, maybe you don't like Taylor Swift, and that's okay.

I'm not trying to rip on her. She's an incredible

musician, but there's also other instances where you can see if you go to a concert or for our

international audience with the World Cup or Formula One, you will watch people as they travel

to events, and you'll watch them sometimes

in a concert with their eyes closed and their hands lifted.
