Summary
This week we are venturing nervously into the archives to dissect and discuss our worst ever predictions.
Part one includes a couple of clangers involving Serena Williams, examples of our overly optimistic outlook on Grigor Dimitrov, and jinxing the big Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal match that everyone wanted to see at the US Open.
The Tennis Podcast is presented by Catherine Whitaker and David Law, featuring Matt Roberts. It is produced weekly year-round, and daily during the Grand Slam tournaments. It is crowdfunded by listeners every December.

| 0:00.0 | Hi, this is Mary and Bartorri. I'm Matt Villander. This is Mary Carillo. I'm San Roenca. I'm |
| 0:05.2 | like New York. I'm Andy Mori. Hey, this is Kate, Anson Chivers and you're listening to the |
| 0:09.8 | absolute sanity saving tennis podcast. |
| 0:23.0 | Well thank you, Kate. We've gone from exquisite to sanity saving, which I think is a locked down |
| 0:29.9 | plus. What do you think, Catherine? Yeah, Matt, when you send out the emails to our backers saying |
| 0:36.0 | can you send in your recordings and in your intros, do you fish for compliments? Do you request |
| 0:43.0 | that they put in some kind of superlative, you know, just if you feel like it, feel free to |
| 0:50.0 | pay us a massive compliment. I don't actually. This is an intro arms race, which is happening |
| 0:58.2 | independently of me. Organically. It's like when our mascots get involved in an arms race to |
| 1:05.8 | send us tennis related animal content. Can't believe our luck. No, it's all fine. And we also are |
| 1:12.7 | quite happy to receive your emails, which we've been receiving by the bucket load over the last |
| 1:17.2 | few weeks, most of which saying very nice things and yeah, it really has. Would you be in most |
| 1:22.7 | time when you don't you don't share with me the ones that don't say nice things, do you? |
| 1:27.1 | That's correct, Catherine. Particularly in a week when we are about to reveal our worst of |
| 1:38.1 | ever on the podcast. And that means the worst of our predictions on this particular edition. |
| 1:43.4 | On Thursday, we're going to discuss the worst grand slam finals in history or have a debate about |
| 1:51.5 | and we're also going to talk about the worst of the greats, which is going to be a lot of fun |
| 2:00.8 | to try to work out when they were human, when they weren't brilliant, when they did rubbish |
| 2:06.1 | things on court and threw in absolute shockers. Because is that kind of world of the moment? We've |
| 2:10.4 | decided we're going to have one week where everything's rubbish and we're going to talk about it. |
| 2:14.8 | So we'll be getting on with that in a moment or two. Catherine's had her own worst of week or |
| 2:19.8 | weekend. Catherine, you've had an uninvited guest in your flat. What's happened? |
