0:23.8

ABC News and Ipsos that shows Donald Trump with the worst favorable ratings of any president

0:30.7

in the last 80 years, historically unpopular for a president and his first 100 days.

0:39.5

You know, a little bit cold comfort, I know, for many of you and for us here,

0:45.0

reporting on this since we told everybody he'd be a disaster.

0:49.3

And for some reason, that didn't sink in for some voters.

0:52.9

And I think it's also a little bit of cold comfort because, you know,

0:55.1

we've been through this with the polls during the campaign.

0:57.4

Polls go up, polls go down.

0:59.0

You know, the polls were, the polls did undershoot Trump a little bit across the board,

1:04.9

basically, in, you know, in the 2024 election.

1:10.0

Not by a ton, not by more than the margin of error, but by enough to get a bad result. But I think that is why you've got to look at these polls in this context, right, which is even if they're undershooting them, you know, even if they're undershooting him by, I don't know, what do we want to give them? 1:50.0

If you gave him a curve of five points, I'd give him a 44% approval. I'd put him above the first Trump. I'd put him above himself. So that'd be good, but that wouldn't be enough to pass anybody. but he's got to give him a 9% curve to get him up above old Gerald Ford, who had a 47% approval rating about the first 100 days of his presidency.

1:52.5

So, you know, it's not good, no matter how you look at it.

1:56.3

And I do think that when you look at the numbers underneath, they tell you a lot about, you know,

2:03.8

what is really driving this. And it is the economy. I mean, I don't think that should be

2:07.6

surprised to anybody, but some pretty striking numbers here. The economy since Trump took

2:13.5

office, 21% better, 53% worse, 25% same. You know, that is, uh, what, 78% people saying that

2:24.2

it's either the same for them or worse. That's not great, Bob. Um, prices for things you want

2:29.3

are need going up 62% same 27% going down 11% so it's, you know, almost 90% pretty much everybody.

2:37.6

Likelihood of Trump's policies causing a recession, 72% say likely. So, I mean, that includes
