My name is Dan Koch. Like many of you, I've been on a complicated faith journey for a number of years now.

And while I tend to find myself on the progressive side of Christianity, my goal is not to make liberal converts.

I want this show to be a resource for Christians to my right and to my left, as well as

former Christians and non-religious folks, anyone who finds themselves asking difficult questions

about God, science, prayer, fate, suffering, evangelism, and more. So many of us have been given bad answers to those good questions, often by people

with pure intentions.

I want to say that you have permission to take both Christianity and the modern world

very seriously.

And I hope to facilitate that by introducing you to people seeking God across

the Christian spectrum, engaging hard questions in a multitude of ways. Thanks for listening.

Andy Squires, thanks for joining me, man. Oh, man, it's so good to be here. This one's a long time coming. We've had some scheduling issues, but that's to say that I've been following you on Instagram for some time now. I don't know exactly how to describe what it is you do. It's not easily categorized. I imagine that's not a new

thought to you. Yeah. How do you describe it? Well, that whole project, these, I call them little

mini essays, that, that accidentally happened. And I think the writing is, it's a response to the world that I inhabit mostly, which is the church

world. It's the world of faith. I'm a Pentecostal charismatic from way back. And so I think

that the initial reactions in the beginning writings were more of an attempt to critique my own tribe. But over the

past two years, it looks a lot of different ways. It just depends on what mood I'm in that day.

But sometimes they're just like narrative things out of my life. I would say some of it's just

practical wisdom. I would say some of it's or maybe wisdom. I would say some of it's, or maybe I should say an attempt at wisdom.

That might be a, wisdom might be too audacious of a word.

But the overall project is just me personally trying to make sense of my world, I would

say.

I mean, you're a great writer.
