vermy composting or more commonly known as worm composting and what we're gonna cover is, how does worm composting actually work?

What are the reasons behind it?

Second, a couple common problems and questions that people have when they're doing it.

And finally, some of my choices for how to get started in vermy composting

if it's something that's interesting to you so let's kick it off with

question number one how does worm composting actually work well here's the simplest

explanation I'll say it in one sentence worms eat kitchen scraps in essence

what you're doing is you're using worms and you provide them a home, which is the

composter, you give them some lightly moistened bedding and then you give them some food.

And the food you give them is the food you don't eat.

So you're looking at banana peals, egg shells, vegetable scraps,

leftover pastas or breads, coffee grounds,

on and on and on.

All the things that you don't eat as a human,

the worms will love.

Again, not everything.

You don't want to feed them meats or oils usually,

and you don't want to add a whole lot of acidic foods

because that can actually irritate their bodies.

They are quite permeable little creatures,

so you want the pH to be within a certain range.
