hey welcome back this is John Eldridge Craig McConnell here again as we're talking about how Jesus looked at life

Kind of in contrast to how we look at life. We're talking about core assumptions that we bring to the world and the way

that we interpret it. And I'm cracking up at how difficult our first set of recordings was. I mean we were

stammering, hemming, hawing, back and forth. I thought why is this so opposed? I don't know that we've done a podcast series that's been more

directly and obviously opposed than this one? The confusion, the lost thoughts, I mean what is with that? It's clearly

opposed definitely. I think the other thing John as I've thought about it is we just don't often think of kind of the core assumptions that are beneath every decision and all how we live and to sit down and try and put words to them you know it's it's not

something we do often so opposed and an exercise really mhm mhm as I

walked away from last time crack I found myself wishing I had asked you this

When you hear worldview what comes to mind when you hear we're going to do a series on worldview. Well it reminds me of

probably some required course in seminary. Right. And a little

happy thought theoretical and you know how many angels can fit on the head of a pen in and you know how many

angels can fit on the head of a pen in and of itself it doesn't draw me.

It's fascinating gang.

I mean I used to teach this to college students, but there's something about even just a phrase,

worldview that immediately conjures a certain kind of Christianity, a certain

tone, a certain approach that frankly is really unattractive. I don't know all the reasons for that. They feel like

they're truths detached from life. They don't feel like they're connected to the

heart that they're primarily from the head.
