0:02.7	This week is a week of awareness, action and solidarity for people fleeing conflict,
0:07.1	persecution and natural disaster.
0:09.0	It's also a week of data as local, national and international organisations
0:13.7	share their latest findings on global displacement.
0:16.9	And we have decided to take that chance to give you all an up-to-date picture
0:21.0	of the asylum state today.
0:22.7	Matilda, talk us through the findings.
0:24.5	Right, so the big annual report comes from UNHCR, the UN High Commission for Refugees.
0:29.3	It's their Global Trends report, which looks at the whole of 2022
0:33.3	and tells us where people are fleeing from, where they're going to,
0:36.8	and lots of other key overviews.
0:38.8	So the main places refugees are coming from are...
0:42.3	Syria, Ukraine and then Afghanistan.
0:45.3	Syria's civil war has been going on since 2011.
0:48.6	Afghanistan has seen a mass exodus since the Taliban take over in August 2021,
0:53.1	and Ukraine has been under invasion from Russia since January 2022.
0:57.1	And where are they going to?
0:59.0	The three countries hosting the highest number of refugees are Turkey, Iran and Colombia.
1:05.4	Would not have guessed the hat.
1:07.4	Three very big countries, though, so I suppose the next question is
1:10.9	which countries are hosting the most refugees per capita?
