I myself was late and missed the first 15 minutes, which, as I understand, was most of the important action for the game, Carlos Sanchez Red Card. I hear it was a blatant handball. Penalty Shinjigawa scored that. And there was a Cantero free kick, which was lovely,

and another Japan goal towards the end.

We remarked that it's another, in a long, well, growing list of surprising results for this

World Cup, Japan, I think most people expected would be the weaker link in this group, which is fairly evenly balanced.

Senegal and Poland to come, Colombia and Poland perhaps are the two front runners, but it's very difficult to predict in Group H.

Although a 2-1 victory to Japan, largely because of Colombia going down to 10 men early on,

is a surprise result, isn't it, Alex?

Yeah, I think clearly that red card, as early as it was, had a massive impact,

not simply because they were playing against 10 men,

but also because it forced Colombia initially to sit back into a sort of a 4-4-1 and then take a quadrado off, bring on Wilma Barrios to tighten up that midfield area.

And Colombia brought Hamas Rodriguez off the bench

sort of fairly late into the second half,

which I don't think they would have expected to have to do

or probably wanted to have to do at that point.

It was completely the correct decision on the penalty

and the red card.

Although, I was a bit confused.

I saw somebody mention something about double jeopardy

and not getting, not having a sending off when you award a penalty as well.

There's a new Premier League rule, which began, I think, at the beginning of last season.
