Okay, it's day 14. We've just finished watching the Senegal Columbia game.

We didn't get a chance to watch the Japan-Poling game,

although it doesn't really sound like it made too much of a difference.

Poland won that 1-0, but for Japan they're through anyway.

And it's our first World Cup progression decided based on the disciplinary rule.

And I believe Japan had two fewer yellow cards than Senegal did. And Senegal, of course, lost their game to Colombia as well, a Yerimina goal

in the second half. For the Senegal-Columbia game, it was interesting, wasn't it, one,

wasn't it? Because in the first half, I think we all would have agreed that Senegal looked a better team. They didn't create enough chances and, crucially, they didn't take any in the first half. And of course, it was going to be obvious that Columbia were going to come out in the second half, determined to get a result. You know, potentially that's a point where there's only 45 minutes of World Cup football left and without wanting to sing a cliche, anything can happen.

Do you think that result went the way it should have?

Is it fair?

I think it's really harsh on Senegal to have gone out in this fashion, you know, because

they accrued to yellow cards more.

But at the same time, the draw against Japan, you know, they led that game twice, they

should have killed that off.

They were absolutely the dominant side for the first half of this game, at least, before Columbia came back into it to a degree,

although it still took a set piece goal.

And I don't think Ndai was really massively challenged in the Senegal goal otherwise.

So they're going to view this as a missed opportunity, I think.
