Greetings from Ralph Winter, one of the editors of your textbook who called yesterday afternoon

over at Bethlehem and we had a chance to talk and I said, well I'm talking at perspectives tonight and tomorrow night.

And he said, oh, please give my warmest greetings

to my friends in the perspectives class.

He has a real fondness in his heart for this class

around the country.

And so I extend to this regards.

Well, the way I see the two pieces that I've been able to put in this puzzle, the first and the last, is that in the first

lecture I tried to answer the question,

what's the goal of God in history?

Or you could bring that down and say, what's the goal of missions say what's the goal of missions?

What's the goal of life?

And the answer was God's goal is to glorify himself

in everything that he does.

And my topic assigned tonight is world Christian discipleship.

And the way I'm interpreting that just because it's the way I see life is that now I'm going to try

to answer the question about motivation. If you know the goal, then you know the direction that you're heading, what you want to accomplish.

But a big question remains is, where's the power come from or what's the driving force behind that goal?

And so those are the two questions that I consider at my job to answer.

The first one, where are we heading or what's God up to in the universe?

And now tonight, if you want to be a part of that what should be the power or the driving force in your heart.
