Summary

Grant Holloway is the reigning world champion, Olympic silver medalist and second-fastest man in history for the 110m hurdles. He is a professional hurdler for adidas running and we recorded this from the adidas hospitality suite in Eugene, Oregon last weekend at the USATF Outdoor Championships. He’s one of the most fun personalities in the sport and I’m sure you’ll have some laughs in this episode because it’s hosted by Jasmine Todd and Katelyn Hutchison.

They host the Out of The Blocks podcast within the CITIUS MAG Podcast network. They were two breakout stars this weekend in the mixed zone. They are both part of the Magic Boost Program aimed at improving the diversity within the people covering the sport and it was so amazing to see athletes open up to them and express themselves in different ways from some of the more traditional media. They bring out some of the best in athletes in ways others can’t.

You can watch the full episode on the CITIUS MAG YouTube channel but also catch the conversation in podcast form on Spotify and Apple Podcasts by searching 'Out of The Blocks with Jasmine Todd and Katelyn Hutchison'.

0:32.3

battery life, Garmin pay and some cool features including a multi-band GPS, race day widget and

0:38.2

a morning report. So let's start with the multi-band GPS. This means that there's two signals from

0:43.5

satellites coming down onto your watch to improve the GPS tracking so that your runs are more

0:48.4

accurate with measuring the distance run and the pace that you're going at. The map also looks

0:53.3

super clean once it shows up on Strava and Garmin Connect so it shows that you're on the sidewalk

0:57.9

and not in the middle of the ocean on those waterfront runs in the middle of the summer.

1:01.2

The race day widget connects with the Garmin Connect mobile app and gives you a countdown to

1:05.3

number of days until your next race. It's got a pace pro feature that helps you stay on goal pace

1:09.6

and factors in the race course if you load it onto the watch. They've got a projected race day

1:14.0

weather forecast and if you're up for it they'll even suggest some workouts on what you should do

1:18.7

for your next run to get you ready to hit your goals. It's fun and easy to get on your watch

1:24.0

the morning report is brand new and similarly it gives you the day's weather what you've got in

1:28.0

your calendar for the day and a recovery score that's pulled from your heart rate variability

1:31.8

so you know how fresh you may feel for that day's run or workout and how you slept the previous night.

1:37.1

For my triathletes out there there's also a new triathlon mode so you can bike, swim and run

1:41.3

all during the same activity while logging your transition times. Take a look down at your wrist.
