Just this past week, the Boston-based running brand announced the Tracksmith Foundation.

The goal is simple, yet ambitious, give more youth the opportunity to participate in track and field.

Tracksmith believes the lessons learned from being part of a track and field team

are the lessons that can create a more inclusive society.

facing the sport today, then Russell Dinkins, who is now the Foundation's executive director.

He was a guest on this podcast last year for his efforts to save the brown men's track and field program.

And for the past year, Tracksmith has been supporting Russell

in his work to save college track and field programs from being eliminated.

Now he'll be able to continue this work through the Foundation.

and inspire broader participation through advocacy and assistance.

and that's by hosting a New Year's Eve spectacular in New York City.

All proceeds from the Midnight Mile featuring Nick Willis trying to break four minutes for the mile

for the 20th consecutive year at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory

will go towards the Tracksmith Foundation.
