So we're going to ice right now, sorry, okay, so my name is still Ann Marie and I'm still

in alcoholic always will be, so it's eight and nine.

One of the things that for me, the first time I went through the steps, I mean eight

and nine just blew me out of the water, I'd never taken responsibility for anything.

I certainly had never gone to somebody and actually apologized, right?

In fact, actually, before I even did the steps, I had, when I first met my sponsor at

the time, my first sponsor, Cass, I had met her at a woman's big book workshop at somebody's

house and I had asked her to sponsor me and she was not pleased about this request because

she did not like young people in AA, came to find out that she didn't like young people

in AA because her daughter happened to be a young person in AA, so, but anyway, I

asked her to be my sponsor and what happened was that she had said to me, are you willing

to go to any length?

I was like, yes, sure, I'm willing.

She was like, think.

I was like, okay, yes, I'm willing, I had no idea what I just agreed to do, really.

But so she said, fine, go home, get a big book, make sure it has no marks, and call me

tomorrow.
