Summary

Yesterday we had a workshop on the 12 steps and I thought it might be fitting to feature the same, but on the 12 traditions. So, today we have Bob D leading a workshop on the 12 Traditions one by one. He makes some interesting points in relation to speakers and anonymity on the internet, but keep in mind this was recorded in 2003. There is about 3 seconds missing between part one and two at approx. 1:06ish. Here at Sober Cast I try to beep any last name I hear including Bill W's regardless of how well known it is at this point. If you ever hear a last name (it occasionally happens) please use drop me an email with the episode title and about the time in the recording you heard it, thank you . It's good to be at what I would think of as a fundamentalist AA weekend, and in a day

0:40.5

the 12 traditions, it was, I was like that guy in the treasure of Sierra Madre, traditions,

we don't need those thinking traditions, you know, I that kind of attitude when I got

the alcoholics anonymous, and something happened to me, and I fell in love with AA.

First through some of the people, and then the group, and then just the alcoholics anonymous

itself, and as I did that and moved my caring from me out into you, the tradition started

And what I'm going to try to talk about tonight is not just a nuts and bolts academic talk

1:45.3

about the traditions, but my personal experience with them, my failures, I've seen a lot

1:54.6

of breaches of the traditions and never buy bad intention people, and my own breaches

2:00.7

of them were just through ignorance and not through bad intention.

2:05.7

I ran a corporation which I sold last year, and we ran it on the 12 traditions, and all

2:12.0

my management team and staff didn't know anything about the 12 traditions, but they could

2:17.0

tell you about the principles, because we talked about them on our staff meetings a lot.
