Nehemiah chapter 3 verses 1 and 2.

Then Elyashib, the high priest, rose up with his brothers, the priests priests and they built the sheep gate they

consecrated it and set its doors they consecrated it as far as the tower of the

hundred as far as the tower of Hanon, and next to him the men of Jericho built, and next to them

Zakur, the son of Emory built.

Now we can keep going on at this point as Nehemiah recounts how the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt

by different people doing different parts. So here in Nehemiah 3 1 and 2 it's

Elias Shib the High Priest with his brothers the priest they're building the

sheep gate and then next to him the men of Jericho are building and next to him, the men of Jericho are building, and next to them Zakura, the son of

Emory built.

And it's this picture in Nehemiah Chapter 3 of God's people working together to build the walls around Jerusalem,

specifically to rebuild them to repair what was broken.

And as I read these verses this chapter I just can't help but think

about the beauty what happens when God's people are working together to do what God has called them to do,

quite literally to build each other up, to build up the church and to work together for the spread of the gospel and the glory

of God and I just want you to think right now

about other brothers and sisters in Christ

that you know.

I want you to think about your church

and ask the question, how can I build them up? How can I build them up in

Christ today and how can I work with them for the spread of the gospel and for the glory of God?
