Three minutes after ten, a very good morning indeed to you. I hope we had a great weekend. We will be marking the passing of John Hume, arguably,

a man who's done more in the last 50 years to bring about peace on the island of Ireland than

anyone else, arguably. You won a Nobel Peace Prize, so I don't think I'm overreaching with that

suggestion, but I'm happy to add the arguably.

And it's a, it's a strange, shame as Malin, of course, also we lost in the last six months.

It's, um, it feels a bit epochal to me.

So we will be having another look at that a little later in the program.

Please rest assured, four minutes after ten, it is, of course, events course events um current events that concern us most this

morning and i hope this doesn't upset anybody who's expecting me to be sharpening my cudgels for a

for a traditional attack upon the absolute skipfire that is the current government's policy on this

pandemic but let's let's not do that for early doors today.

Let's let's look instead at you and me. It's funny, isn't it? I don't know what you're doing at the moment work-wise, whether you're still working from home or whether you've gone back to work, or whether you've furloughed or whether you've lost your job or whether you're worried. It seems to me almost impossible to pick an angle upon which

you could even hope for any form of consensus, let alone unanimity. Every household is having a

different experience of the continuing crisis, I think. And weekends often bring that home. At least

they do for me. That's why I mentioned that you may still be in the zone where you can't tell where Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday

begin and end, because everything is still much of a muchness. Even when I was broadcasting from

the shed, it felt sometimes as if we needed a reminder that night passed in today. There was this sort of weird descent

into an amorphous existence. And since I've come back into the studio, that's gone. So that's

why I mentioned, I don't know where you are on this graph at the moment, whether or not you have

returned to at least the baby steps towards what we would call normality or whether

you are still fully immersed, invested in completely different circumstances. And I don't
