| 1:17.0 | with Google to create AI Siri, Eddie wants to go much further. Sources say that as we've heard in the |
| 1:22.2 | past, the targets include mistral AI and perplexity, and those conversations have been far more |
| 1:26.9 | than just theoretical. |
| 1:28.4 | Now, I will remind you that the reason that we talk about this is that historically, Apple has |
| 1:33.1 | not used acquisitions as a solution to get ahead in a new industry. In fact, to date, their largest |
| 1:38.4 | acquisition is still beats headphones in 2014, which was just a $3 billion deal. In other words, like a quarter of what |
| 1:45.7 | meta paid for less than half of scale recently. Of course, money isn't a big issue. Apple has about |
| 1:51.1 | $75 billion in cash on hand, and so has a credible path to buy just about any AI company |
