| 0:00.0 | Let's talk more about the Home Run Derby and then maybe look ahead to tonight's MLB All-Star game. |
| 0:05.8 | So a couple observations from the Home Run Derby last night, for one, |
| 0:10.7 | did you like the jerseys with the A, lowercase, AL and NL, |
| 0:17.2 | and B, the logo being so big that it spills over to the middle of their jersey. |
| 0:24.2 | My apologies to the graphic designer that came up with this. |
| 0:28.6 | It's not their fault that they came up with the worst jersey that's ever dawned. |
| 0:34.1 | Whose fault was it then? |
| 0:35.9 | Whoever is in charge of approving said jersey. That got through a level or two of, yeah, those look great. Let's go with that idea. Let's lock that one in. That's who deserves the blame here. Because there's no such thing as bad ideas right out the bat. You throw out a few. They're not all going to be great. We've got plenty of bad ideas for the show that never make the air, but you've got to be able to trust. We got to for A40. I just bought on the cyber truck outside. We got some that still make the air, just like these jerseys. But no, they were, they were absolutely terrible. Yeah, I just, I definitely didn't like it. just looked like it said Al on their shirt with the lowercase A.L. |
| 1:13.6 | And then I just was so annoyed by the A and the AL just bleeding over into the middle of their jersey. |
| 1:21.6 | It was very distracting. |
| 1:23.6 | Yep. |
| 1:24.4 | But we got to, thanks to Pat McAfee, the man with the biggest ass in sports, Cal Raleigh putting on a show, which he did. |
| 1:36.6 | It was fun seeing him go out there and do his thing. |
| 1:41.7 | But we had a little controversy earlier as with Brent Rooker they tied they had the same amount of home runs in the round and instead of going to well at first they measure it the tiebreaker based on who hit the furthest home run and then if that's tied you move on to the next tiebreaker well they're about to start the next tiebreaker and all of a sudden they say wait wait wait i know you guys both hit a home run that was 470 but actually cows went 470 and 8 inches. |
| 2:19.2 | So he will be declared the winner. |
| 2:22.1 | And then that just made me think back to something that I'll typically think about during the home run derby and then just put it back in the recesses in the back of my mind again. |
| 2:33.0 | The pseudoscience of how they determine how far a home run goes. |
| 2:38.3 | Right. |
| 2:39.3 | Because I guess I kind of understand, you even look it up, |
| 2:42.4 | and it's, you know, they determine the parabolic arc that the ball is on |
| 2:47.4 | and make a scientific determination of how far it'll go. |
| 2:51.0 | It's just math, you know. |
