There is genuine Christian virtue in hard work and in a society that was largely shaped, at least externally, by a Christian

worldview in the United States, one might wonder how it is that poverty, especially in a country

that produces so much abundance, how it is that poverty persists and persists rather stubbornly. We throw money at it, we try to change

policy to eradicate it, and it persists, and if what we're seeing in a younger generation,

especially of young men, is true, we might be facing more and more of it in the future.
