Summary

Could it be that the Christmas story started far earlier than we think? In our new series, “His Name Shall Be Called,” Pastor Joakim Lundqvist reminds us that Jesus didn’t just show up in Bethlehem—He’s been present since the very beginning. From Old Testament encounters to ancient prophecies, Scripture has been pointing to who Jesus really is all along: our Wonderful Counselor and the One who still brings wonder into our lives today.

0:31.1	you had a great Thanksgiving. You know, Maria and I are still kind of working in the traditional
0:35.9	Thanksgiving into our lives because being Europeans, we don't have it automatically.
0:41.6	Obviously, Thanksgiving is an American holiday to celebrate that you all broke free from, well, us basically.
0:50.5	Good for you all, good for you all.
0:54.0	But now, as we know, Thanksgiving is in the bag,
0:56.4	and now we start to look ahead toward Christmas.
0:59.6	And worldwide, this weekend actually is referred to as the first of Advent,
1:05.0	the first of the four weekends leading up to Christmas
1:08.6	when we celebrate and marvel at the thought of Christ being born
1:13.2	and our salvation, our Savior and our Lord being born into this earth in the town of Bethlehem
1:20.7	2000 years ago.
1:22.6	So what I want to do here as we start this brand new series called His Name Will Be Called, which is really
1:29.8	an Old Testament prophecy about Jesus, one of the messianic prophecies. And we're going to look at
1:37.5	that for the upcoming weekends. But what I want to do here today is basically just build a
1:43.3	foundation with you all and teach you about how we see and recognize and perceive Christ in the Old Testament.
