you are the one who has really covered such a broad range of women in history. So to start off,

I really want to know what is your favorite period of history?

Yeah, I mean, personally, I think all periods of history are interesting.

I mean, I would probably say the 16th century, because that's where I do the academic side of my work.

But actually, I mean, I've always had a soft spot for the Anglo-Saxons,

actually. In fact, because I did archaeology at university and was doing Anglo-Saxons. My master's

dissertation was on the Anglo-Saxon sculpture of the South Saxon Kingdom. So actually, maybe the

Anglo-Saxons. They're fascinating. They really, okay, so I have to know what is it about them that

fascinates you so much? It's so in, I mean, it's, we're right at the start really, I mean,

of kind of, it's the early medieval period. So the sources are fairly sparse and they're very
