the Czech Republic. She grew up interested in travel and foreign languages, excelling at German and English in addition to her native Czech by the age of 16.

These language skills allowed Eliska to find work at a large bank, where she met her husband, Vincent Chenek Juncova.

His success at the bank gave him an extra cushion to explore motorsport, a novel and expensive hobby.

Alyska realized she also shared a passion for cars and began to take driving lessons. She obtained her license and by 1920 was riding shotgun as Chennox riding mechanic. At this time, it was very

common for a driver to ride with their mechanic to take care of the automobile's needs while the driver focused on the road.

Aliska and Chenick exclusively drove sleek and elegantly designed Bugatti's.

As they began to ride professionally and secure victories, the racing duo became iconic in Czech High Society.

Around 1925, some races banned riding mechanics, meaning

Chenick and Alyska had to race separately. Aliska began to secure victories on her own with her
