Summary
Why do all the tour guides focus on the men in French history?
What about the women?!
This is a question that haunted Heidi Evans - so much so that she launched a company called Women of Paris that specifically focuses on revealing the neglected gender in France's historical pages.
She talks about her company, some French women you may never have heard about, and (what she calls) an X-rated fact about Marie Antoinette.
We also did a live Walk Show on Facebook if you want to know more about Heidi and her tours. The first five minutes are free, watch on Facebook here. The other 30 minutes is behind the Patreon paywall for those who pay $10 a month. Go take the tour and sign up here.
Find more info about the 20 Days of Christmas Walk Shows - a walk through each of the 20 arrondissements in twenty consecutive days.

| 0:00.0 | Hello everybody, it's Oliver G here, the host of the Eiffel Tower podcast, and it is a very wet and |
| 0:05.6 | rainy Monday in Paris, which maybe doesn't mean anything for you, but it's bad news for me because |
| 0:10.1 | I'm about to leave this studio and do a live walk show on the left bank in the rain. But hey, it's |
| 0:16.0 | live. That's what happens. We're going to have some fun. But today's guest, I'm going to introduce in a |
| 0:21.7 | second, Heidi Evans. But first, I want to say a shout out to all. I think this week maybe broke a record |
| 0:27.2 | for the number of listeners that I've met in Paris. A big shout out to Maria and to Lynn, who I did |
| 0:32.2 | a tour with. And also a shout out to Dinka, who, well, who stopped me and Lina in the street when we're with |
| 0:39.2 | our red scooter and said she listens every single day while cycling in the Netherlands, which |
| 0:45.3 | was one of the most Dutch things I've ever heard. |
| 0:47.7 | So if you're listening, Dinket, nice to meet you the other day and everybody else I mentioned |
| 0:51.9 | there. |
| 0:52.5 | But let's talk about today's guest, Heidi Evans, who, after living in Paris for a few years |
| 0:57.3 | and working as a tour guide, realized there was a gaping hole in the tour guide industry. |
| 1:01.4 | Everybody seemed to be talking about just the famous men from France's history, and she decided |
| 1:07.1 | to rectify that. |
| 1:08.1 | She's about to tell her story. |
| 1:09.5 | If you, dear listener, are a more visual |
| 1:11.8 | person, you want to get an idea what me and Heidi talking looks like. She was the first guest |
| 1:17.2 | on my 20 days of Christmas challenge. We did a walk around the first hour on this month, the |
| 1:22.2 | Palais Royal and the Comedy Francaise. So you can go and check the first five minutes of that. That's |
| 1:27.4 | there on Facebook for free. |
| 1:28.8 | The rest is for Patreon supporters of this show, |
