I've seen some ugly things where it's made you question humanity,

but as most prison officers learn to compartmentalize

and you just have to put certain things that happen out of your mind because if you

don't you let it play over it'll drive you crazy.

I think a lot of us want to make a difference when we're at our workplaces and some places are easier and harder than others to do this.

For this episode we speak with Angela Feeney, a corrections officer in

New South Wales who's been in the job for 27 years. Angela's worked a lot with

women inmates. It's something she tells us she swore

she'd never do and you'll hear her explain why. Now she's in a role at the

Metropolitan Ramaand and Reception Center in Silverwater and it's more focused on supporting her colleagues.

In fact she's got a pretty interesting job title.
