Summary

From sex slave to suicide bomber, reproducer to recruiter - women are driven to play extreme roles in the world
of terrorists - as either promoters or victims of terrorism. According to a new report, women play bigger roles in
terrorism than is generally recognized, and U.S. policymakers overlook this.

Terrorists treat women as second class citizens at the same time as they depend upon them for jihad. They demean
women by raping and trafficking them, using them as baby factories, and as labor. Yet they have no shame in also
using women for their other talents, such as suicide bombers, since women can more easily go unnoticed in crowds,
and Internet recruiters, since women are better at building network connectivity.

How do women get on the frontlines of jihad? Some are kidnapped and forced to be violent, but others join
voluntarily. Hear the many surprising reasons women choose to join terrorist groups and fight.
