and March is Women's History Month. We all know the theme of the month, but did you know that

holiday started here in California, it started in Santa Rosa in 1978. This is our 45th year of honoring

Women's History Month, and we do that in part with today's event. We've had lots of events

over the course of this month, and today will be part of that. Today's event is hosted by the

USC Dornside Center of the political future. It's an organization headed by two people who

are political opponents.

Bob Schrum, Democratic strategist, a legendary one, and Mike Murphy, who is also a legendary

Republican strategist. There are opponents for years, but they're not enemies. And that's really

the ethos that the Center for the Political Future embodies, is that we can

disagree and still pursue a politics where we respect the facts, we respect each other,

even though we can have strongly held opposing beliefs. So we are joined in partnership today by

many student organizations and the very prestigious U.S. prestigious USC Schwarzenegger Institute.

I wanted to mention the student organizations that are part of today's event, including

political student assembly, vote SC, women in politics, and the USC College Republicans.
