Summary

Talking points: relationships, culture Let me start off by making one thing clear: this isn't problematic. But some other things are happening in tandem that I haven't heard any major outlet talk about. That itself is an issue. Listen in. (00:00:00) - Intro and stats(00:01:55) - What I find fascinating(00:03:39) - This is something we ALL should be having dialogue about(00:07:28) - Why authentic equality is really important(00:10:26) - Again, NOT saying this is wrong, but what are we creating further down the line?(00:11:40) - You can already see some consequences in the data Pick up my book, Men's Work: A Practical Guide To Face Your Darkness, End Self-Sabotage, And Find Freedom: https://mantalks.com/mens-work-book/ Check out some free resources: How To Quit Porn | Anger Meditation | How To Lead In Your Relationship Build brotherhood with a powerful group of like-minded men from around the world. All right, team, we are going to talk about something interesting and a little bit different

0:09.0

than what I normally talk about, which is a recent study by Pew Research.

0:14.5

And Pew Research put out the study that showed that women are out-earning men.

0:19.1

And women are out-earning men specifically in several major

0:22.5

metropolitan areas, places like New York and L.A. and Washington, D.C. And in 22 of the main

0:30.2

metro areas in America, women are now earning as much, if not more. Now, is it a problem that

0:35.9

women earn as much as men? Absolutely not. Does it become

0:39.3

problematic when overall women are out-earning men? Not necessarily, except the majority of those

0:47.2

women when you ask them still prefer to date a man who is earning as much as them, if not more.

0:56.5

Now, this becomes an even bigger problem when you start to dig into the data and you start to look at the men exiting the workforce.

1:02.7

And so right now, in America, we have the lowest rate, the lowest percentage of eligible

1:08.4

working men that are in the workforce. So when you look at the data

1:12.3

between 24 and 55 is what they constitute as an eligible working age, and only 85% of men

1:19.7

are in the workforce that are in that age range. That is down 8% over the last 50 years.

1:25.8

Now, that 8% might not sound like a big deal, but when you're

1:29.0

talking about 100 million people, that's substantial. That it's a substantial amount and

1:34.9

a number of people, number of men specifically, that are not engaging and entering into the

1:41.2

workforce. And so that puts more of a burden, I guess you could say, more of a responsibility

1:46.7

onto the female part of the workforce.

1:49.8

And you have the highest amount of women that are currently in the workforce.

1:54.1

Again, not a bad thing.

1:55.8

But one of the things that I find fascinating is twofold.
