Hello and welcome to True Crime Daily, the podcast covering high-profile and under-the-rate

our cases from across the country every week. I'm your host Anna Garcia and our cases this week,

a waitress who saw something and she said something. She ended up saving a boy's life in the process

according to police and after noticing that a boy was covered in suspicious scrapes and bruises,

the waitress asked the boy if he needed help. She did this by holding up a sign that his parents

didn't see and when he nodded yes she called 911. Now the boy's stepfather has been convicted

of child abuse and there are new details that have emerged about the kind of torture that that

boy had endured. But first, when a relationship begins like this, a man's wife dies so then he

marries her adult daughter. You know that it's going to be tricky and in this case police say deadly.

That woman, the former stepdaughter turned wife, is accused of stabbing to death. Her former

stepfather turned husband. She claims that it was self-defense but police say that she was unhappy.

Prosecutors say that she delayed calling 911 by 11 hours because she was swiping through a

dating app for matches. We are recording this on Thursday, June 16th of 2022. You all thought I was

going to say Wednesday but no, we're doing it on Thursday or switching it up. And our guest today

DA's office, the homicide unit, he runs his own private investigation firm called GetBit, does a lot
