The Alhambrae Carmelmalites I remember so well from my

LA years they came out to my house one day all the way in Santa Barbara they

were there for some other reason and the doorbell rang I came to the door and there were 50 Carmelite Sisters and they broke into

song and they serenated me with these beautiful hymns.

I don't know what the neighbors thought in Santa Barbara, but I don't care.

But I remember that night very well when I first came to your house and the Carmelites had this

tradition, you know, think of the little flower where they would put on kind of little dramas and theatrical plays.

Well, there was one of the sisters, I figured her name now, younger sister, who dressed up as the blessed mother.

She was like the blessed mother.

And she came over to me at one point.

I was sitting there and she came over and she said,

I have a message to you from Cardinal George.

Now mind you, Colonel George had died just maybe like a year before that.

And he was a mentor to me, you know.
