You know, let's let me stay with that for a second because you look at the

stats around young people today and you know the spiking numbers depression

and anxiety suicidal, and very often we run to the

social media and I think they play a role to be sure and all that.

But I even wonder if it's this deeper thing. In some ways that the whole new atheism fad and

is like a limit case of what we're talking about. It's all up to me. I decide value.

I decide what's true and good. There is no objective norm.

We don't come from anywhere. There's no objective moral value. I don't have no moral purpose to my life.

And a lot of people, young people heard that message from the new

atheists and said, oh great, you know, stick it to religion. But look what you're left

with. I mean, it's this is this blasted landscape of hopelessness and in a way that is the limit

case of what we've been talking about is when you so internalize and

subjectivize value and you've lost any common ground.

Together we can work for a good that lies beyond us,
