Happy Easter, everybody.

Happy resurrection weekend, no matter where you are or when you are.

We are here because the tomb is empty.

And if the tomb is empty, anything is possible.

Amen? And so I don't know if you dressed up, but obviously I did. I normally don't dress this way, but I just thought, hey,

it's Easter, and there's not a bunch of people here to make fun of me. So it's just me and some cameras.

But I'm glad to be here with you. And so if you got your Bible, go to Revelation chapter 3.

And you may be wondering, what in the world does the book of Revelation have to do with Easter?

And I'm glad you ask, because it has everything to do with Easter.

You see, this whole deal really began, all the events that led up to what we celebrate

at Easter really began around a table.

You see, on Thursday night, Jesus gathered his disciples together around this table, and he celebrated with them the Passover meal.

They've been doing this for thousands and thousands of years, and it was to celebrate when the angel of death was going to pass over Egypt.

And Moses goes and he tells the people, go get a perfect spotless lamb, sacrifice the lamb, put the blood of the lamb on the doorpost of the house.

And when the angel of death comes, whoever has the blood of the lamb on the

doorpost of the house, he will pass over. But this night, he gathers together around this table,

and he changes all the rules. He breaks the bread, says, this is my body. He holds up the cup. He says,

this is my blood. The disciples don't know what he's talking about, but he is giving them

this tangible picture of the gospel what would happen the next day. They leave the upper room,

they go to the Garden of Gassimony, and he prays. And Jesus, sweating drops of blood, he prays.
