In Chapter 2, if you're new to Bible study, do not start your Bible study in Revelation, okay?

It's a little dangerous for you. It's kind of weird, and there's dragons and stuff, and so we'll just, we'll stick in Acts.

But we're in the fourth week of a four-week series where we're studying the church at Ephesus, this incredible church.

It was planted in Acts chapter 19. The The apostle Paul goes there, 12 religious guys

meet Jesus. That's pretty cool. Paul's doing these amazing miracles all throughout Ephesus.

He's healing people and he's preaching and teaching the gospel. And the Bible even says that the

miracles that Paul is doing

in Ephesus are unique. They're not even, they don't happen in other places. Like, you know, he's at the

tailgate, he's grilling a bubbleburger, he goes into the game, takes off his apron. The apron lands on

somebody and heals him. So he's, he's healing people by accident. You know what I mean? It's one thing to have the gift of healing and heal people on purpose.

Paul is so saturated in the spirit of God that he's healing people and didn't even mean to,

like with Kleenexes and stuff.

And so word gets out about Paul and all that God is doing through him at the Church of Ephesus.

And these guys named the Sons of Skeva, the seven itinerant Jewish exorcists, they try to get on with what's going on.

They won't kind of get on the Jesus train, but they don't know Jesus.

And so they go out and they try to cast out a demon by using Jesus' name, but they don't know him.

And if you'll remember back from week one, then the possessed man, the demon possessed man, jumps on the seven sons of

Sceiva and masters them and beats them naked and wounded, right? Beats their pants off of them.

That's how bad this was. The Bible says that they fled naked and wounded. There's wounded,

and then there's like an emotional wound that Oprah can't take away. You know what I'm saying?

That's what happens. And so then, then fear falls upon all of, of the city of Ephesus, and the church

begins to explode. And the Bible talks about the kind of environments that, that the early church
