That's looking good. If you got your Bible, I hope you do. Grab it, go to Ruth Chapter 2. That is where we are going to be.

Part of the reason we wanted to show you Kelly Ray's story is this, man, do you believe that God could use a single girl from a foreign land to change the world?

Well, that's what the story of Ruth is. She was born in the wrong country. She had the wrong country. single girl from a foreign land to change the world.

Well, that's what the story of Ruth is.

She was born in the wrong country.

She had the wrong religion.

She's from the wrong side of the track.

She's got a really tattered past.

She's not exactly on the who's who list of most influential people in the world. And yet, somehow, in God's sovereign, redemptive plan, that thing bottlenecks

down to the obedience of one girl from Moab. And really what we've been talking about through

this whole series is the sovereignty of God. We've talked about the sovereignty of God in our pain,

the sovereignty God in our perseverance. That's what Pastor Adam led us through last week.

And today we're going to talk about the sovereignty of God in provision. And so just to recap it

really quick, there was a girl named Naomi. Her name means sweetness or sweetheart. And she was

married to a dude named Alimelech. And his name means God is king. And there was a famine in

Bethlehem, which means the city of bread. And so they decided to go to Moab because there was food there.

It was probably 50 miles away or so.

And the problem with that is that God said you shouldn't move to Moab because God's people aren't there.

God's people, the fellowship, worship, there's no temple, all of those things.

And yet, for a short-term gain to kind of make their life more comfortable in the now,

they move away from God's people and blessing to Moab.
