We're going to talk today about holding fast to hope. The term hold fast is a nautical term.

And it means to cling to when a rope is taught on a ship, it's called it's fast. And so sailors would sometimes tattoo the term, or the word hold fast on their knuckles.

So that in times of trial, they would be reminded to not let go of that rope that they were

holding onto.

And so this whole series is about holding on to certain things in the midst of the storm.

And so that's where we're going to pick it up in Acts chapter 27.

You probably remember Paul is on a ship. He got outvoted last week on whether to sail or not.

And so now they decided to sail. And he's on his way to Rome. That's where they're trying to get to kind of finish up his trial.

And so this week we're going to talk about holding fast to hope. Just go ahead and jot this down in case
