We're going to be in Matthew chapter 18.

As we continue in this series that we're calling the storyteller, we just started it last week,

because Jesus was the storyteller.

That's not the only thing he was, primarily.

He's sovereign, savior, king of the cosmos, but in order for us

to know what we were being saved from and saved two, he would teach and preach all over the place,

and he would tell stories.

He would tell these parables, and parable comes from two Greek words that means to cast alongside

of.

And so, he would take a complex concept like the kingdom

of God and forgiveness that people don't know a whole lot about. And he would cast that alongside

things that people could understand just common everyday stories like fishing or farming or college

football. He didn't use that one. But he would if he lived today, okay? That kind of thing. And so last week we did a parable on parables in Matthew chapter 13, and if you did your homework,

now I know you don't even remember what last week was about, but I do because it's what I do for a living.

If you did your homework for last week, and if you did your part to cultivate the soil of your soul this week,

then this week will be one of the greatest sermons you've ever heard in your life.
