How are we doing, church? Doing okay?

If you got your Bibles, I hope you do, John 14 is where we're going to be for the majority of the time.

It's going to be quite the emotional rollercoaster this morning, folks.

So get your tissues and your Bible, and here we go.

I want to say Merry Christmas.

Normally, I'm kind of breaking my own rule here.

Normally I reserve Merry Christmas after Thanksgiving. Gretchen starts Christmas music about mid-August

at my house, and so I start like the week of. But anyway, that doesn't line up well with our series.

What we're going to be doing over the next several weeks from now until Christmas Eve is we are going to be unpacking

sort of the names, but really like the titles of Jesus according to the scriptures.

There's some very familiar passages in the scripture, even if you're brand new to Bible study,

if you've ever seen the Peanuts Christmas special, then you have heard these scriptures before.

And he goes all the way back to Isaiah chapter 9,

verse 6. Maybe you've heard this. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the

government shall be on his shoulders. Praise God. All right, just in our current circumstances,

thank God for that part. But that's a different sermon. And

his name shall be called. That's the title of our series. His name shall be called. Wonderful

counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, prince of peace. And then if you hop over to the book of

Matthew, and you don't have to jump to all these places, some of you haven't found Isaiah yet,

In the book of Matthew, it's the story of the birth of Jesus from his earthly father's perspective,

from Joseph's perspective, and it says this.
