John chapter 1 verse 6.

There was a man sent from God whose name was John.

He came as a witness to testify concerning that light so that through him all might believe.

He himself was not the light.

He only came as a witness to the light.

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.

He was in the world and though the world was made through him the world did not recognize

him.

He came to that which was his own but his own did not receive him.

This is the word of the Lord.

You have a seat.

This is something that occasionally happens as a pastor.

You realize you wore the same clothes you wore on the video shoot day.

I got more than this to show you know.

So if you were around last Sunday we read the first five verses of John chapter 1 and

we picked up right where we left off.

That is the intent each week as we lead up to Christmas.

We are going to build and build.

We are ringing out the first 14 verses of John's gospel for everything they are worth.

And the punch line, the place that we are driving toward as we move up to Christmas is this.

The word became flesh.
