It was a week of high drama and tense votes in the House of Commons.

The crucial EU withdrawal bill came back for MPs to vote on the amendments that were put in by peers and Theresa May's

government succeeded in repealing most of them but there was a nail biting vote

more that MPs should have a quote-unquote meaningful vote on Brexit.

This matters because it could give MPs the powers to stop a no deal Brexit,

stop a Mrs May Brexit, or stop any Brexit at all.

The government did broke a compromise on Wednesday,

but it all fell apart on Thursday,

so you are essentially back to exactly where we started.

George Parker obviously is a lot of Brexit legislation to get through the House of Commons.

It matters because there needs to be legal basis for the UK to leave the EU in less than 300 days,

I'll remind you. The withdrawal bill had a lot of changes made to it in the House of Lords

with peers trying to give Parliament more power over the process and also to try and soften Brexit.
