Hello and welcome to another episode of the Fully Charged Podcast. This show is very very Dutch in its in its

orientation because we are going to be in Amsterdam in a very few days and we're very much looking forward to it and really hope that you can come along if you're in the Northern European

Northwestern European Enverons. I'm thinking France, Northern France, Belgium, Western Germany, Denmark,

you know, it's all easy travel distance of Amsterdam. We're at the Rye on the

24, 25th, 26th. It's going to be brilliant. And so it's really appropriate to talk to

someone who is living and working, who is Dutch and living and working in the Netherlands,

who is making a difference in an enormously complicated area of home heating and insulation that isn't like a house because that's quite easy.

It might be expensive, but bureaucratically,, quite straightforward.

You live in a house, you go, I want to insulate it,

boom, you do it, or you don't, or whatever.

In an apartment block, which, let me just check my stats.

About 30% of the Dutch population live in apartments.

That's quite high.

It's about 14% in the UK.

It's 48% in Germany.

So it varies, but it's clearly a lot and I know from experience

some friends in France it's vast majority of people live in apartments in France

not in houses. So that is a real challenge of how you heat that home and how you insulate it if it's an old building that needs upgrading.

It's not straightforward, it's not easy, it's a complicated thing.

And my guess today, Eka Rippin, is just, you know, really challenging, you know,
