Good morning. It's Saturday, March the 15th. I'm Ali Velshi. The Democratic Party is divided this morning

after 10 Senate Democrats, led by minority leader Chuck Schumer, voted with Republicans to pass a

six-month funding bill that was put together with no input

or negotiations with Democrats. Now, that averted the government shutdown, but it's also giving up a

key piece of leverage. Meanwhile, the White House seems unfazed by a series of court rulings

against some of its mass firings of federal workers. After two rulings against the Trump

administration, a White

House official referred to the federal judges who issued the rulings as activists who dress up

in black robes and said the president and Elon Musk's doge will not be intimidated by them.

And yesterday, Trump delivered an hour-long speech at the Justice Department headquarters

in which

he railed against his enemies, calling out former prosecutors and lawyers by name and hinting

at forthcoming new executive orders to specifically target the, quote, violent, vicious lawyers

who prosecuted him or opposed his policies in court.

But we're going to begin this morning with the matter that most voters

said was top of mind last election, the economy. It was another volatile week on Wall Street as

Donald Trump's haphazard and shape-shifting trade war continues to create uncertainty and instability

in financial markets. The Dow, the NASDAQ, and the S&P 500 all closed yesterday

with a decent bounce, but only after experiencing steep losses earlier in the week. The S&P even

fell into correction territory on Thursday, meaning it had plunged by at least 10% from its most

recent peak, which it reached just last month. All three indices are also
