1:08.9	doubt he band of early adopters who went through that whole journey of these cars that you know were
1:16.5	were doing only 50 miles to one charge and stuff like that and and Ewen did a PhD on Next Generation lithium Chemistries at St Andrews and Oxford.
1:28.0	So everything you ever wanted to know about E.V batteries, he is your man. So let's begin you in with that first and very obvious
1:38.4	myth that we hear so much is that EV batteries don't last, that you need to replace them every sort of four or five years and it costs the price of the car.
1:48.8	So tell me about the longevity we're seeing from these first-gen batteries.
1:54.7	Hi Quentin, so I'm kind of living proof of this because I have a Tesla sitting on the driveway that dates from 2015. It's clocked up 130,000 miles and I mean I've only known it from about 90,000 miles old
2:13.2	but I've not seen it degrades its range any since then.
2:16.4	I reckon it has lost at most 10% of its original range
