This is the monthly magazine from the team behind the week junior.

And I'm Kieran, the features editor.

It is so good to be back. I've missed solving science mysteries or at least attempting to. We don't always manage to crack the case, do we?

Not at all, but I've missed it too. This series, we're going to try and crack some even more amazing mysteries, if that was possible. We're going to cover everything

from space to dinosaurs to the multiverse to missing planes. So many mysteries. You know, Dan, I think

we've just grown so much that we maybe just need someone else to help us. You think this is a

three-person job, E Kieran? That is exactly what I think. Well, funny

you say that because look who's just joined us in the pod recording studio. Hi everyone. It's Stevie.

Welcome to Mysteries of Science, Stevie. Why don't you introduce yourself? Well, thank you. So,

I'm Stevie, the assistant editor of Science and Nature.

It's my job to come up with fun-filled and science-packed ideas for the magazine.

I also work with the writers and designers and make sure everything is super interesting as possible.

It is so nice having you with us, Stevie.

I'm hoping that after today we might be able to convince you to join us for a few of the mysteries this series.

Got nothing better to do with your time. It's fantastic news. Well, it's just as well you said that, Stevie, because we thought that as we're recording this in October, and because we

like things to get a little bit spooky on the podcast, although probably not ever as spooky as

that King Tuts Curse podcast that was a little bit too much, even for me, we're going to look

at our favourite Halloween creatures and characters and monsters and see if they hold up to any sort of scientific scrutiny.
