The bizarre case of Kelly Wilson's disappearance shocked all of East Texas when new indictments were handed down Friday.

Prosecutor Scott Leifert says today he's confident about the evidence he has to go to trial with. And he says the evidence is more than circumstantial. The evidence in regard to Kelly Wilson came up in the course

of the investigation that we were doing on the sexual abuse of the children that have been

taken away from the different members of

the Kerr family. We think that there may be more victims, but we don't have any concrete evidence.

We don't have any particular missing people that we're looking for. That's part of the investigation

that we've got to go into. Over a two-day period in late January 1994,

a grand jury in Gilmer, Texas,

indicted eight people for the kidnapping, rape, and murder

of Kelly Day Wilson,

a local teenager who'd been missing for more than two years.

Among the indicted were five members of a local family, the

Kerr's. Needless to say, the news shocked all of us in East Texas. Most bizarre of all were

details found, not in the indictments themselves, but in the affidavit for a search warrant

In the affidavit, investigators claimed that members of the Kerr family were leaders of a

cult that forced their own children to participate in satanic rituals, including the sacrifice

of babies.
