| 0:52.8 | the coming year. Let's begin by looking at Psalm chapter 90 verse 12. This one written by David |
| 1:00.1 | says, teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Let me read that again, |
| 1:08.7 | teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Now, obviously, David is speaking |
| 1:17.4 | to someone here. Who is he speaking to? Well, he's speaking to the Lord God of heaven and |
| 1:21.8 | earth. This is a prayer. He's requesting that the Lord would teach us something. And what he's |
| 1:27.9 | asking is that the Lord would teach us. He says to number our days. What does that mean? Well, |
| 1:33.4 | they're a handful of things it probably could mean. But I think the primary meaning is Lord |
| 1:38.2 | teach us to recognize that our time here on planet earth is fairly short. Help us to understand |
| 1:46.8 | that every day, every minute, every, every opportunity that you give us is indeed a gift. And |
| 1:53.7 | that it is our responsibility to take those days seriously, to do with them what will amount |
| 2:01.7 | for the greatest impact from our lives. Now, lest we get ourselves overburdened with this sort of |
| 2:08.3 | thing and become just this dour serious person who is never looking to enjoy life, never seeking |
