All right, today we're looking at Proverbs 23 verses 6 through 8 and this passage is a wonderful

0:50.6

example of one of the things I love about the Proverbs. Solomon paints imagery. He paints pictures

0:57.7

and scenes that help us to understand the deeper principles that he's going after. And today,

I believe he's giving us some insight about discerning the motives of others and being wise,

1:41.9

has painted here where a person has invited you to dinner and he's placed all these delicacies

1:48.0

on the table for you. And he's encouraging you eat and drink and you're even responding with

1:54.0

kind words, with pleasant words, with perhaps even flattering words because you're grateful to be

1:59.5

included. But what he's saying is when you know a situation like this has come about and that the

2:07.2

person doing it is a miser. What is a miser? What's a person who hordes their money? It's a person

2:14.9

who doesn't spend any more than necessary to get what it is they want. He's saying, you need to
