My dear old mum used to like to get on with her Christmas shopping early.

In fact, she was known most years to start in the January sales.

Well, I seem to have inherited that impulse,

because this year's festive episode of Folk on Foot was recorded at this time last year.

I suppose we just got a bit carried away with the spirit of the season.

It takes us to West Yorkshire to visit the beautifully decorated home of the brilliant guitarist, singer and songwriter Katie Spencer. Then to a local hostelry where we meet

Maddie Morris on route to their festive gig, and finally on to the village of Marsden, home to two of

our favourite artists, O'Hooley and Tido.

It's great that we managed to capture them playing this uplifting homecoming Christmas gig in their local church because since then, Belinda and Heidi have announced they're taking a break from performing together.

So among many other treats, this episode will be a reminder of just what it is we'll be missing.

So turn on your twinkly lights or fire up a candle or two, pour a glass of something warm and

cheering, and come with us in search of winter folk in West Yorkshire.
