I have to begin this episode with something that I haven't had to do very often in the five years that I've produced this show.

And that is, I have to issue a correction.

Now luckily, the correction has nothing to do with the substance of

Winston Churchill's story. The correction has to do, believe it or not, with Indiana Jones.

And so after the error that I made was pointed out to me,

it landed upon me as to why I don't make pop culture

references on this show very often because obviously when I do it doesn't go very well.

And the correction was, last episode I think the line I said was, in reference to the rats being in the coal mine

with Churchill, I said it was the creature that even Indiana Jones himself couldn't stomach.

Now the truth is that Indiana Jones wasn't scared of rats

Indiana Jones was scared of snakes.

It was his father that was scared of rats which we found out in Indiana Jones and the

last crusade. So to the astute listener that picked that up and emailed me about it

I appreciate it and to the rest of you out there I promise to do better with

vetting my very sporadic pop culture references and so with that nasty business now out of the way, what you're about to hear is the final episode in the Winston Churchill great escape story.

Now, I thought this was going to be three episodes long that was my line of sight on

this series but if series passed are any indicator I should have known that this would

have gone well beyond the goal line of three episodes

because what you're about to hear is the 12th episode in the Winston Churchill Great Escape Story.

So I missed the mark by quite a bit. I will continue to try and give

you accurate lines of sight on how long these series might go. But again, even

when I throw a number out there, who knows if you can trust that?
